Warm evening, September-November 1966. A friend and l, decided to see a film at a small cinema on the Northern edge of town, Geraldton. We saw the first film then stepped outside for a smoko during the intermission with a group of other cinema goers. A soft light moving slowly approached us from the south. No sound the and the light appeared to be describing underneath a part of an elliptical shape. We thought perhaps a weather balloon as their was no sound. It continued toward us, then stopped dead still, directly above. Difficult to judge but didn’t appear to be very high in the air. So, guess about 10 metres across. It remained stationery.
Then the cinema bell rang announcing time for the second film and we all went inside. Next day the local newspaper had the front page headline: UFO SIGHTING! I have tried to track down the paper. But no luck.
